Create a Dialog
Analogously to all SABIO content new dialogs can be created in the search tab. A new dialog can be created by selecting the option “Add dialog” in the context menu in the left upper corner above the sources.
Furthermore, a new dialog can be created in the dialog tab.
The following properties have to be set for a dialog:
- Title, description and immediate executability
In the first step a title is assigned to the dialog. It is important that the title is unique within the SABIO system. This means that no dialog may have the same name as another dialog. Furthermore, the title should be as meaningful and precise as possible so that the choice which dialog to use is as easy as possible for users. A short description of the topic of the dialog helps the user select the fitting dialog. Also, it should be defined if a dialog is immediately executable or not. If the dialog is not immediately executable, the dialog is still found in the search, but it is not possible to start the dialog from the content list of the search tab. The user can start the dialog only in the dialog tab.
Note: In order to ensure the conciseness of a dialog and to be able to determine which question belongs to which dialog it is recommended to use a nomenclature. For example, all the questions that relate to a dialog about “contract termination” are prefixed with “CT” and they are then assigned consecutive numbers - “CT_01”, “CT_02”, etc.
- Views
The editor determines for which views the dialog will be visible in the SABIO system.
- Metadata
In case meta information about a dialog is needed, the meta information has to be created in the SABIO system. It can then be assigned to each dialog element by selecting the desired meta information under the option “Metadata”.
- Write Permissions
The editor determines which user groups and which users may edit the respective dialog.
When these properties are set, a click on the “Save” button redirects the editor to the dialog end (“End of Process” – “EOP”). The reason behind this is, that every dialog requires an EOP. By redirecting the editor directly to the EOP when trying to save a new dialog ensures that the editor does not forget to add this step.
