How to search with the SABIO Integrator
With the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator content from the linked Serviceware Knowledge system can be searched and displayed quickly and conveniently. This is helpful when a user quickly wants to look up a search term in Serviceware Knowledge without leaving his/her current website.
The search underlies the general rules of the search.
It is searched in all views that are assigned to the currently logged in user. At the moment the user cannot restrict the search for a specific view.
The search results are shown in the content list. The list is solely sorted by relevance. The most relevant content is ranked highest, the least relevant lowest. At this point the order of the search results in the content list is fixed.
Every search result is displayed with its title and an excerpt from its content. Words corresponding to the search terms are highlighted in the the text excerpt. For the display of the search results “infinite scrolling” is used in the content list e.i. the results are constantly reloaded until the end of the list is reached.
If the search should not yield any results, the content list stays empty.
There are three ways to search with the Integrator:
- Manual search
- Browser context menu
- Automatic search
Manual Search
If you want to search in all content, you have to select "All content" Quick Selection.
The user can enter a search term into the Integrator search field, which is located on the right-hand side of the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator bar next to the user icon. By pressing ENTER the search is initiated.
With the second entered character the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator suggests suitable search terms through autocomplete. With every newly added character the suggestions are refined.
Search with the function "Search with SABIO Integrator"
The function “Search with SABIO Integrator” enables the user to mark one or more words on a website and use these words as search terms in the Serviceware Knowledge system by selecting the option “Search with SABIO Integrator in the context menu which opens via a right click.
If the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator was not opened before, it will automatically open after clicking on “Search with SABIO Integrator”. The search term(s) then appear in the search field of the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator and the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator automatically searches for the search term(s).
Automatic Search
Configurations for several web applications can be stored for the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator, so that the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator can automatically read and search for content of predefined fields. As soon as the user opens a web application or a certain part of it the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator searches among all content for matching content in the background. The user is informed when the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator finds matching content. For example, the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator could read the subject of a ticket in a ticket system and search for content that matches the subject.
Status Display
The colour of the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator plugin changes to green, when the current web application is configured for automatic search. If the automatic search was successful the icon blinks alternately orange and green for a period of 10 seconds. After 10 seconds the icon turn green again.
