Overview of the Toolbar

The toolbar allows the user to edit the content shown in the detailed view.

The layout of the toolbar varies depending on user permissions, type of content and system settings. An example is given here:

Hovering the mouse over the toolbar components shows tooltips for each item.

The following buttons can be found in the toolbar:

The button "Linked documents" shows the number of attached documents in brackets next to the paper clip icon.

Clicking on the button shows the documents as icons beneath the toolbar. They can be shown in a new Serviceware Knowledge (SABIO) tab or downloaded (depending on the document type) by clicking on the icons.

The button "Archived versions" shows the number of archived versions of the selected content in brackets, if more than one version is accessible for the user.

Clicking on the button shows the accessible versions as icons beneath the toolbar. A click on the icons displays the version in a new Serviceware Knowledge (SABIO) tab.

The button "Add suggestion" allows the user to either create a new suggestion or to add a comment to an existing suggestion.

The numbers of open suggestion existing for the displayed content is given next to the feather icon.

The button "Add/remove bookmark" allows the user to save the content in the detailed view as a bookmark with one mouse click.

A further click on the symbol removes the bookmark.

The bookmarks can either be accessed through the source "Bookmarks" in the home tab, or the user menu.

The "Print" button opens a preview of the content in a new browser tab and launches the print dialog. The printed content corresponds with the layout of the detailed view, with the exception of the toolbar. The URL of the printed SABIO content will be added at the foot of the page.

The button "Maximize/minimize viewport" increases the detailed viewing area by hiding the list of content. A second click displays the list of content again.

This area of the toolbar allows the user to "rate" the quality of the content.

Hovering the mouse over the rating bar also provides a rating tip. The rating can then be awarded by clicking on the respective star.

The button "Show linked content" is only visible when displaying a suggestion. Clicking the button displays the referring content in the detailed view.

It is possible to store contacts and documents locally with the button "Save on local disc".

The "Confirm message" button allows the user to confirm messages in the detailed view. Accordingly this button is greyed out once the message is confirmed.

The "Message Details" button provides additional information concerning a message.

A window opens displaying author and timestamps for both message validity and creation:

When displaying a text in the detailed view after entering a search term, this dialog will appear in the toolbar.

By rating the relevance of the content for the entered search term, the user "trains" the search engine. The more often a text is rated as relevant, the higher the search engine will rate the text in similar future searches.

After selecting the icon depending on the content type you have up to three possibilities to share the link to the content.

  • You can copy the link to the clipboard.
  • The link can be sent via email.
  • For texts you have the option to send a message to the text. This function replaces the function “message to the text” which previously could be opened from the toolbar.
  • For messages you have the option to forward the message.Selecting this option opens the respective message in the editing mask. The target user groups to forward the message to have to be selected. You can adapt the message as you know it from creating messages. Saving the message will forward it to the target user groups you set here. Forwarding a message will send a new message. The old one will stay untouched in the system and must be confirmed separately.
