Deleting Views
Deleting Views
To delete a view, you need to make sure that the System does not contain content that is exclusively linked to this view.
If Content exists that is linked exclusively to this View, the following error will be displayed when trying to delete the View.
Steps to remove/change the view-content relation
- Change to the tree-tab
- use a right click (contextmenu -> edit tree -> views) to delete the View from the first level of the branches that are now displayed
(image: contextmenu -> edit tree -> views)
- If the content (or part of it) only exists in this View, a corresponding error is displayed (see above)
If the above is the case, you need to check the lower tree levels, and change the View-Content relation accordingly.
next steps:
- To achieve this, you need to use the search tab to run a search for "*" (asterisk) with "all content" selected
- Then select the to-be-deleted View via Facets and point all content that is displayed to a new View
Once the above steps have been completed, and only content with multiple Views exist, the view can be deleted.
How to delete a specific view:
1. Go to the admin tab
2. Select the source "Views" and choose a view you want to delete
3. In the toolbar select the item "Delete"
4. After reloading the page, the selected view will be gone
(image: menu "More" of the toolbar select the item "Delete")
Tip:
My view can not be deleted - now what?
Potentially there can be inactive branches in the tree that are only linked to this one view.
To identify these, please use the tree-edit-mode (via right click on the tree).
In this mode you may find inactive branches of the tree and the views they are linked to.
If there are still branches or nodes with only this one view assigned, you need to assign them to at least one more view.
