HTML Editor: Pasting Text
Apart from pasting text by using the combination Ctrl+V, these three buttons in the toolbar of the HTML editor allow different kinds of pasting (from left to right):
-
Paste:
Pastes formatted text from the clipboard at the current cursor position into the text.
-
Paste as plain text:
If a text is copied from a formatted source (e.g. a website) this formatting can cause problems in SABIO.
With complex formatting, it is recommended to paste it as plain text and format the text manually afterward in the editor.
-
Paste from Word:
Since Microsoft Word uses formatting not fully compatible with HTML, pasting text directly from Word can cause unwanted side effects.
This button allows pasting formatted text directly from word.
Basic formattings taken over from Word are:• Bold
• Italic
• Underlined
• Strikethrough
• Bulleted or numbered lists
• Tables (pasted with a line break in every cell)
• Alignment of the text
• Sub- and superscript
The formattings will be lost when pasting from MS Word:
• Font and font size
• Font color
• Shadowing
• Word templates
• Line spacing
