HTML Editor: iFrame
Using the iFrame function external websites or content of an external website such as e.g. videos can be embedded into a SABIO text. For this, we use a common web standard, which enables the user to integrate external content and to display it in all channels to which SABIO is connected.
To insert an iFrame into a text, click the button "IFrame" in the toolbar of the HTML editor:
By clicking on the button the following window appears:
In this window the user can set the following properties for an iFrame:
- URL: The URL of the webpage that will be embedded as iFrame
- Width / Height: The width and height of the iFrame in pixels
- Alignment: The alignment of the iFrame with the SABIO text
- Enable scrollbars: Show scrollbars for the embedded webpage
- Show frame border: The embedded content is displayed with a frame
- Name: The name of the iFrame element
- Advisory Title: the text of the tooltip that is shown when the mouse cursor hovers over the inline frame.
- Long Description URL: the web address of an HTML page containing a longer description of the inline frame.
The content of the iFrame is displayed as soon as the text is saved.
Editing an existing iFrame:
The user can edit an existing iFrame in the edit mode of the text. By double-clicking on the existing iFrame the window “iFrame Properties” is opened. Alternatively, the user can open the window with a right click on the iFrame and the selecting the option “iFrame Properties” from the option menu.
Tipp: I have inserted an iFrame into a text but it does not display external content. There are a few things to consider when embedding an external page:
If the embedding via iFrame does not work for a page, a solution could be to use an external link instead.
