Display of Content in the SABIO Integrator
The Serviceware Knowledge Integrator displays content of the linked Serviceware Knowledge system, which is relevant for the user in his/her current context.
The following content types are shown in the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator:
- Texts
- Messages
Texts
By clicking on a text displayed in the content list the complete text is opened in detail view to the left of the search result list. The window of the detail view has a fixed width so that the user can still see the current context. If the text is too wide or too long for the window of the detail view, scrolling is enabled in the window.
In detail view the path of the text in the Serviceware Knowledge system is displayed beneath the title. The path specification is characterized by the small branch symbol to its left. Also, to the left of the title an icon depicting the document type is displayed, which opens up an option menu when hovering over it with the cursor.
Note: Embedded IFrame, videos and pdfs are not displayed.
If there are internal links in a text, they can be viewed directly in the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator. By clicking on the internal link the linked Serviceware Knowledge text is displayed in place of the other text. To return to the initially viewed text, the text has to be selected from the search result list again.
Other links (documents and contacts in the Serviceware Knowledge system, external websites) are opened in Serviceware Knowledge .
Note: The user might have to log in to Serviceware Knowledge again. The user is not logged in automatically.
- Links to Documents in Serviceware Knowledge: By clicking on the link to the document in Serviceware Knowledge , the linked document is opened in the Serviceware Knowledge system.
- Links to Contacts in Serviceware Knowledge: By clicking on a link to a contact in Serviceware Knowledge , the linked contact is opened in the SABIO system.
- Links to external Websites: By clicking on the link to an external website, the website is opened in a new browser tab.
Messages
The Serviceware Knowledge Integrator informs the user about new, unconfirmed messages in the Serviceware Knowledge system. The number of the user’s unconfirmed messages in the Serviceware Knowledge system is displayed together with the icon of the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator in the browser bar. The displayed number disappears as soon as the user has confirmed all of his/her Serviceware Knowledge messages or the user logs out of the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator.
The user also receives a short browser notification about the existence of unconfirmed messages in the Serviceware Knowledge system. The notification is hidden again after a few seconds.
The Serviceware Knowledge Integrator updates the state of the messages in synch with the Serviceware Knowledge system, when the Integrator is actively used. This means that the number of Serviceware Knowledge messages and the notifications are only updated, if the user clicks on something in the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator. It is not sufficient to just open the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator for the messages to synchronise. Therefore, it may happen that a short-term discrepancy between the actual number of Serviceware Knowledge messages and the number of Serviceware Knowledge messages display in the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator occurs, if the Serviceware Knowledge Integrator was not used in a while.
At the moment, messages can only be read and confirmed in the Serviceware Knowledge system.
